What kind of training do you offer?

Business & Community Institute of Lansing Community College offers performance solutions training and courses in a variety of topics for various industries. Training can also be customized to meet specific customer needs.

What if I have specific training requirements?

We customize training to meet your company's need for content and delivery options, including Web based. Courses can be from one to five days in length and flexibly scheduled during the days, evenings, or weekends.

Where are your classes held?

If your company has a training facility on-site, we can come to you to do the training, saving your employees travel time to the campus. We also deliver Web based training and have training rooms available at our West Campus.

Our Web based synchronous training is instructor led and allows employees to participate from any location that has access to the internet.

Do you use certified instructors?

Yes. Instructors have industry recognized certifications that are required by standards organizations in the field. Using certified instructors ensures that our trainers not only know the material, but can teach it effectively to clients.

Do your instructors have real-world experience?

Yes. All of our instructors are actively employed in the field in which they train. Having real-world experience allows instructors to enhance course content by including examples of tested best-practices, hints, and tips for students.

Do you offer a guarantee on your training?

Yes. If for any reason you are not satisfied with the training you receive from our programs, we will offer a retake at no cost the next time the class is offered.

Is there a minimum number of students required to run a class?

Requirements vary by course. As a general rule, however, the charge for a training program is defined in a proposal and the minimum number of participants is determined by the customer.

Are course times and days limited to Monday - Friday?

We offer a flexible schedule and will work with you to ensure the most successful schedule for your company. Please call to discuss your specific need.

What does it cost to run a class?

There are many variables to consider, such as instructor qualifications, travel requirements, equipment involved, cost of training materials, facility requirements, volume of training purchased, etc. In most cases each training is priced separately based on the customer's specific needs.

Can the BCI modify or custom design training to meet the needs of the customer?

Yes. If you don't see what you're looking for, we will work with you one-on-one to modify current class offerings or even develop a "new" class offering. Instructional designers and course developers are available to help identify requirements outside the scope of a standard program and develop appropriate training to meet specific customer needs.

Can the BCI provide implementation or consulting services for Lean Manufacturing or any of the other Quality subjects?

Yes, BCI provides training, consulting, and implementation services to companies in the areas of Lean Manufacturing or Quality systems. Services are based on a company's needs.

Yes, we have the Angel Learning Management System.

Yes, we can register participants on our system and provide reports to companies as required.

Can I receive college credit for these courses?

Yes. Many of the training programs in this Web site are available for general credit that can be applied to an LCC certificate or degree program. If interested in other credit-based courses, please contact our main campus for academic course offerings.

Does BCI have training rooms we can use?

Yes. The LCC West Campus in Lansing, Michigan, has training facilities.

Will the BCI work with hotels and other training facilities providers?

Yes. Much of the training we coordinate involves setting up sessions in non-BCI facilities, either at company sites or in rented facilities, such as hotels.

Can the BCI schedule facilitators?

Yes. The BCI can schedule internal company trainers, trainers from other vendors, and of course, the BCI trainers.

Does the BCI have facilitators that can train our programs?

Most likely. We have trainers certified in many technical, computer, and people skills areas. If we are not currently certified in your programs, we certainly can become certified in them.

Will the BCI arrange for food?

The BCI will work with you and our conference services program at LCC's West Campus to arrange the logistics related to food, as well as a full range of other conference services, such as space planning, multimedia, etc.

Does the BCI provide a calendar of scheduled training?

Yes, we can provide this in many formats, such as online, email, and hard copy.

Will the BCI do training communications, like confirmation letters, etc.?

Yes, BCI will handle all training-related communication, including confirmation letters, course updates, etc.

Yes, the BCI can track evaluations on our system and provide summary reports as per a customer request.

What is a blended learning solution?

Blended learning solutions are comprised of an e-learning component and a competency based classroom experience. We provide instructor-led training, e-learning, video-based instruction, or programs that incorporate a variety of learning technologies.
