Coach Robinson has had a passion for distance running since participating in track in Jr. and Sr. High. Coach Robinson had the privilege to continue running in college under the legendary coach, Harry Groves, and trained with national record holders Greg Fredricks and George Malley. An average high school and college runner (10:17 high school two mile PR), Robinson began seeing major improvement when he began to apply the principles of periodization in his training after college, ultimately running track and road bests of: 4:06 mile, 14:52 5K, 23:44 8K, and 2:35.29 marathon.
Prior to coming to LCC, Robinson coached the boys track and cross country teams at Portland High School. In just three years, the cross country team improved from an average of 23 minutes to 18:30 for 5K and his athletes set school records in the 1600m, 3200m and 4 x 800m relay.
