LCC sponsors nine intercollegiate sports. Fall semester
athletes participate in men's and women's cross-country and women's
volleyball. Our Winter sport offerings feature
men's and women's basketball. The year's competition concludes in the spring
with women's softball, men's baseball and men's and women's outdoor track.
LCC teams have produced numerous All-American teams and individuals. In 2006-2007, we produced
twenty-five All-Americans, and numerous Regional and State champions. We are
proud of our strong tradition in representing LCC and the MCCAA at NJCAA Championships. We have won NJCAA championships
in the following sports: Women's Softball, Men's Basketball, Women's Basketball, Men's Cross Country, Women's Cross Country, Women's Marathon and Men's Marathon.
Academically, LCC teams have successfully maintained a 2.80
overall GPA. In 2006-2007 we produced two Academic
All-American teams. Criteria for this award is an overall
team average of 3.0 or better. In addition, eight
individual athletes have achieved Academic All-American status
(3.6 GPA or higher). Four of these students have achieved
Distinguished Academic All-American status (3.8 GPA or higher).
Finally, LCC produced over 30 scholar-athletes who achieved a
3.0 or better.
OUR MISSION STATEMENT:
LCC Athletics supports the concept of offering local student
athletes the opportunity to further their educational plans and
enhance their athletic experience and goals.
