Teacher Loan Forgiveness

To encourage individuals to enter and remain in the teaching
profession, the Teacher Loan Forgiveness program grants loan
forgiveness up to $5,000 (up to $17,500 for teachers in certain
specialties) for borrowers who teach for five years in certain
low-income schools and meet other requirements. For certified
teachers who have worked at least 5 years.

TEACH Public Service Incentives
- Effective July 2008, students in teacher prep programs can
qualify for $4000 annual grants to defray college costs. If they
decide not to teach, the grants revert to loans.
