Why Choose Lansing Community
College?

Lansing Community College first offered Online courses in
the fall of 1997 and was the first community college in the
state of Michigan to offer a complete degree online.
LCC now offers more then 150 courses and a total of
13 degrees and certificates completely on-line. We are
proud to offer 5 of these degrees and certificates to our
eArmyU students. Our courses include areas such as
writing, humanities, speech, math, science and computer
information systems. |

Degrees offered
through the eArmyU program at Lansing Community College
include associate degrees in Computer Programmer/Analyst,
Microcomputer Database Specialist and a General Associate
degree in Business. Certificates offered include
Internet for Business and Microcomputer Database Certificate
of Achievement. |

Students never
have to come to campus to take online classes at LCC.
Everything is done online via the Internet except
testing, which can be done by arranged proctored testing
sites at an army base near where you live.
LCC’s Electronic Campus also provides a complete
offering of student services online for our Online students.
These online student services range from advising to
disability support services to tutorial services.
Online Learning courses offer the flexibility that
on-campus or traditional courses do not.
They can be done from anywhere in the world, at the
time of day that is convenient to the student. Online courses cover the same course material and meet the
same learning outcomes as an on-campus or traditional
classes do, the difference is in the method of delivery of
the course. |

Since Online
Learning began at Lansing Community College we have
seen an enrollment increase from 100 students in 1997 to
over 4000 enrollments for online courses in 2002. This
reflects the increase in demand for this kind of delivery
method and the quality of instruction that students at LCC
receive in their online courses. Lansing Community College
is committed to excellence and has always been a leader and
we continue to do so by offering quality education and a
wide range of degrees, courses and services to students
on-line. |
