Faculty and Staff
Center for Student Access (CSA) is eager to partner with LCC faculty and
staff to serve as a valuable resource as they strive to support students in
their quest for success.
For faculty, we have built a handbook to inform and engage instructors in
creating an inclusive classroom. The handbook includes teaching techniques
on Universal Design for Learning, common disability issues, as well as legal
guidelines. Additionally, CSA consultants can provide professional
development to faculty and serve as a resource for problem solving
disability-related classroom issues as they arise.
CSA works with LCC staff in order to create a thriving campus community
which supports diversity. Supporting activities may range from presenting
workshops and seminars to departments on disability related topics to
providing basic information regarding disability law.
Student success and an inclusive campus is built by faculty, staff and
CSA working together.
CSA has produced this handbook to help faculty in their
pursuit of an inclusive classroom. With a brief overview of the
law, common misconceptions, and best practices, it is a great
resource to learn more about working with students with
The handbook is available online or as a downloadable
accessible Word document.
